More mythology of the supposed black Confederate soldier...     While some were dragged into battle as slaves (unpaid), blacks were not legally allowed to serve as enlisted soldiers in the Confederate army (and draw pay) until the Confederate congress passed a desperation bill allowing it March 13, 1865, but of course General Lee signed the surrender at Appomatox Courthouse three weeks later.  Enlisted, paid black soldiers were few and saw virtually no action - there is very little documented evidence of paid, enlisted black soldiers in any of the the CSA enlisted rolls, let alone where they served. :roll:  Again, read up on your history.  The real historic facts are the historic documents in the archives, not the made-up fish-story anecdotes and mythology you heard from your crazy uncle or from Bubba at the diner.[/quote]
