Depends on the child. I saw a news article that mentioned two that died. It irks me that they never mention how old these children are. The child may have died of that something else.

A JHU study analyzed all pediatric COVID deaths in the US and none occurred without co-morbidities. Statistically the chance of a child dying of COVID is less than that of a vaccinated 35 year old. Can it happen? Sure, but it's down in the .002% range. Yes over a large population that's still a few hundred kids, as we've seen, but it's safer than many things. I'll still vaccinate my ES kids when it becomes available, but I don't worry about them. Those who have co-morbidities should be able to do Online Campus, and if they missed that window than Virtual Virginia or VAVA K-12.[/quote]

Covid is affecting children more than they have seen before and they are being admitted to hospital more than has been seen before. The UK had school open during their entire Delta surge. Infection fatality rate was far, far lower there than during Alpha (.2% versus 2-3%, and that's the percentage only of those who were actually infected).

Yes, more cases does mean more chance for kids to have an adverse reaction, because a small percent of a larger number is bigger than a small percent of a smaller number. That doesn't guarantee that the sky is falling, though. Look at the real world data.[/quote]
