Why do you think it matters? What if the WB is another presidential candidate? Does that conflict somehow change Trump’s own admissions regarding the call, and the views of many other national leaders of both parties who say the call and surrounding circumstances are completely inappropriate?
A Whistleblower complaint is secret for two reasons: (1) so the allegations can be preliminarily investigated to determine that they are credible, relevant, filed with the right agency, etc., and warrant a full investigation, (2) to not tip off the accused to prevent them from destroying evidence, intimidating witnesses, retaliating, etc. The whistleblower can choose to come forward but there is a seal on anyone else disclosing his/her identity. In this case, the allegations were investigated and verified by the IG talking to multiple witnesses and reviewing documents. At this point, it doesn’t matter who the Whistleblower is, the investigation is justified and follows the evidence.
