There is one person who is saying what will happen. There is another person who is interpreting the rules the way they want them implemented. Rules allow for clubs to do whatever they want with Aug birthdays. The rule is 8/1 and younger can play on X team. The whole concept of a 12 month eligibility window doesnt apply because players are allowed to play up. This is where people are getting stuck. US Soccer shouldn't have said SY= 8/1-7/31 when in actuality SY=8/1 and younger is the grouping. The 7/31 bound doesnt exist if players can play up. It just creates a mental roadblock for some people.[/quote]You lose one argument to a bunch of people and then bounce back to square one with trying to create a rule to make youth soccer fit what you want to help your personal situation but create big problems for kids that aren't yours. It isn't going to happen. It's a zero sum game and you are just trying to be selfish.  Rinse and repeat.

Because leagues allow playing up "8/1 and under" is the same thing as "8/1-7/31". The 7/31 date is unnecessary. Also 7/31 creates the false perception that there is a lower bound for the eligibility window when it doesnt exist because players can play up.

You've taken the unnecessary 7/31 date and ran with it to the point where you believe only players in a 12 month window should be rostered on a team. Which is clearly not true because all leagues allow playing up. If leagues wanted a strict 12 month eligibility window they wouldnt allow playing up. Its unfortunate that the 7/31 date exists because your interpretation is not correct. Which is causing you to spread incorrect information to others.[/quote]

Age guy has made it his quest in life to defend the poor players that might be younger than a 12 month 8/1-7/31 eligibility window. When in reality there is no 12 month eligibility window because players are allowed play up. Each competition level is simply 8/1 and younger. Its parents responsibility to put their kid on the correct grade in school team. If they dont it will make college recruiting 100x harder for their kid. [/quote] First parents and clubs responsibility is to keep kids safe. Colorado Rapids points out danger in playing up when not ready. College recruiting path is non existent for those playing up when not ready and it increases quiting. College recruiting path doesn't matter because colleges said they don't care what age group you are in, they evaluate all HS, transfers and foreign kids regardless of team.[/quote]
There is no "playing up" 8/1 and younger are eligible per level in club. Parents can choose which level they try out for.

Levels happen to be mostly aligned with grade in school so this is what most parents will choose to tryout for.

Some clubs have a few of their best kids play up an age group but it is pretty rare and often the kid reverts to their correct age group. The small clubs often have playing up but that is more to fill holes on teams.[/quote]

In BY Aug-Dec Birthdays are playing up a grade

When BY changes to SY Aug-Dec players will be playing with their grade or they will be playing down a grade. It depends on when their school cutoff happens.

How weird would it be for Aug birthdays to go from playing on a team with players a grade older than they are to a team with players a grade below them in school. See how this is an issue? The easy solution is for Aug birthdays to play up on their correct grade in school team if needed.

I dont know what you're asking so I'll just make a guess.

Clubs want all levels of player playing on the correct grade in school A B C etc team. This is because its better for players when they get to recruiting years. Its better for the club because they avoid 8th grade teams with 9th grade players who do high school soccer for 4 months out of the year. And in general its easier for clubs to manage everyone when players are grouped by grade. (Think homecoming, or a school trip that only one grade participates in, etc)[/quote]

Age guy got laughed at for bringing up lawsuits due to dangers of the sport, an argument supported by legal papers parents have to sign.

How is homecoming weird? If you have 9th grade players on an 8th grade team they're going to be attending homecoming and you wont have players that night. Same thing with field trips or events that only one grade participates in. If you have a team with multiple grades schedules become more complex which makes it hard participate in games. The fact that you dont understand this is just another proof that you're a littles know it all.

Yes, when teams are all one grade is much easier for clubs to schedule and participate in events.[/quote]
