From the outside, while this coach may have a COI in terms of coaching at both clubs (and why did GFR agree to that in the first place??), the first job of a youth coach is to develop players, not to keep a team together. Therefore if he thinks these kids can compete at the next level, he should tell them so. If he knows a club/ coach that he thinks would be a good fit, all the better. Again, why GFR has a person who also coaches at BSC is beyond me to figure out, but I don't think encouraging a player to try the next level if he thinks they are ready is inherently terrible.
Well, it seems obvious to me (also from the outside) that the alliance that is in the works is with BSC - if it's not it is going to be a huge issue considering there are already overlaps with the coaches. One would have to assume that the TD is involved with the negotiation of any sort of alliance so how would it possibly be with anyone BUT BSC? b/c from my perspective THEN it becomes a COI if GFR has an ECNL pathway to someone OTHER than BSC. Read between the lines here, people. NM made it clear he favors ECNL over GA and there are only 3 local ECNL clubs other than BSC and doubtful GFR is aligning with any of the others. Arlington does not need GFR, VDA doesn't either and Union - well, that ain't happenin.
