Jordan Klepper, Daily Show “When your politics becomes who you are, we can’t debate that.” https://youtube.com/shorts/WyrAfUzDtLc?si=HGw2I9PkSJFOPbTb I think many people are entrenched on their side. Absolutely nothing will change their mind. Not saying they shouldn’t try, but it seems less about policies/platform and more about one’s political identity.
The last election proves that wrong. The problem is that swing voters tend to help Republicans.
Swing voters leaned towards the GOP nominee in 2024 because there was a very unpopular sitting POTUS. Those same voters leaned towards the Dem nominee in 2020 because there was a very unpopular sitting POTUS. See how this works? 2028 will be another easy to predict POTUS election.
According to the latest WSJ poll, Democrats today only have a 33 percent approval rating. Even after all the Trump noise, voters still trust Republicans more on every issue except health care. Do not underestimate what a disaster Biden and progressives have been for Democrats. Trump is obviously very divisive. But he’ll be gone soon enough. Democrats are delusional if they think they can simply wait it out and waltz into power. This generation of Democrats is profoundly unpopular nationally. And they have shown nothing to make the party more palatable to voters. A Rubio or Haley would crush any of the leading Democrats.
wsj poll? ok 🙄 why does government even exist? It’s about helping people and providing stability. Trump has done none of that. He didn’t do any of it in his first term and so far his history is repeating itself. He is a volatile, narcissistic sociopath. On the verge of pardoning a woman who trafficked children. and the Republicans just fall in line behind him. People also have short-term memories. He won in 2016 and 2024 but lost in 2020 and practically all the candidates that he backs have lost their elections. So far Democrats are over-performing in elections since Trump took office. even if people are less than enamored with the Democratic Party all they have to do is see the dumpster fire that’s happening in this country. Each day that passes it gets worse and worse. And maybe they’ll realize ieven though the media told them it was so bad when Biden was president, it wasn’t that bad after all.
