If your kid truly wants to go, he/she should let admissions know after the New Year that it is his top choice. He could also switch to ED II. All of these deferrals are yield protection. Don't give up hope if your kid really wants to go there. Deferral basically means, we think this is not your top choice school, please let us know if it really is.[/quote]
