Parents have always been very engaged and active in APS. We’ve had intense debates over APS decisions in the past.

However, the pandemic triggered some bullies in our community (many who weren’t active before) and the discourse deeply fractured our community. It got really ugly for a while. Republicans took advantage of the situation and rode the wave of discourse straight to the governor’s mansion. [/quote]

A certain group of parents became very, very angry at APE during the pandemic because they wanted full time school before vaccines. They formed a group called Arlington Parents for Education. Their behavior was something else. Miranda was a founder and until recently led the group. She may ride their anger to a school board seat, I guess we will see. It's happened in a lot of other places. [/quote]
