All of this obsessive testing is just making money for the test manufacturers. It hasn't done squat to put a dent into infection rates and waves.
It would if people were decent and stayed home when sick.
In a perfect world, everyone would have paid sick leave. But it's not, and they don't. So that's why even "decent" people don't always stay home when sick. Or might send their kids to school when sick.
DP +1 Honestly, many many many people go to work without feeling well/have a cold. If we tested everyone all the time, I bet you most of us would need to stay home - much more frequently than currently. In the world we live in, life gets in the way of doing a lot of things we should do unfortunately. Even the COVID variants at this point that we know about isn't going to kill you. Therefore, I'm not going to blame a lot of people for not holding back people who may be sick. Ultimately we are ALL going to get COVID - some form now or in the future. We all get colds. Those people that keep suggesting masking is great cause they never will get sick again will get really sick bigtime one day even if they don't catch a cold. You have to live your life and life is risky. On so many levels! If people can put each other in the shoes of other people who's lifestyles are totally foreign from theirs, they will understand that people are really different yet the same - we all need to make a living and all of us benefit from convenience. If something doesn't kill you, you usually ignore it cause there's no other way..
Sure, but that's not a reason to just give in and do nothing to avoid high levels of community spread. As they say, perfect is the enemy of the good. We should do what we can to avoid spreading COVID. If you have symptoms and can't miss work, then wear a mask at work. If you can, do a rapid test before seeing vulnerable family members. Move your social gatherings outside if possible, especially if someone has symptoms or has recently been exposed. Again, not everyone has to do it every time, but more people taking precautions more often could reduce community spread.
