Maybe some kids deserve to be red-flagged for being weird. [/quote] We’re not going to improve anything by embracing bullying. I was bullied my entire childhood for being small, nerdy and having over-protective parents. Of course I didn’t shoot up a school or anything like that, but it ruined my life. I’m not a risk to others but I am a threat to myself and a burden on my family and on society. It possible to be kind to people who are a bit different and still keep an eye out for danger. Maybe these hyperbolic reactions like “ostracize weird people!” and “institutionalize people with depression!” instead of nuanced solutions are partly to blame for why nothing ever changes. [/quote]
