[/quote] The reality is that unless your child is the son of a Montgomery County Police Officer, most reports of abuse are not investigated. This is especially the case when MCPS does not follow procedures, interferes with a potential police investigation and MCPS fails to report child abuse. However, yes, a parent should always first report child abuse to CPS and if sexual abuse, to the police before contacting MCPS.[/quote]
