I very much want this thing to be over, but I think the 6th -for us to be back at work - is very optimistic. That means they would have to pass the clean CR and have Trump sign it tomorrow. I don't think Democrats are going to agree to that before they see election results.

The 6th is this Thursday. The Senate has until Wednesday to pass the bill and Trump can do that Wednesday evening. This is an optimistic timeline but it is doable.[/quote]

I don’t recall how this works- say they pass it at 11pm and Trump signs it at midnight, are we expected to be in for opening that morning? Because I’m in bed before that and am not in the habit of getting up early enough to check the news and get to work by my TOD start at this point in time. [/quote]

If that happens, there should be enough indications in the news Wednesday that you can plan to go in, set your phone alarm to your work wakeup time, and just check for confirmation in the morning.
