Two things can be true at the same time, but Mamdani supporters refuse to accept this: 1. There are unfortunately people who are Islamaphobic and this is why the dislike Mamdani. This is horrible and not OK, but these people do exist. 2. The majority of those who do not like Mamdani are not Islamaphobic. It is not OK to broadly say that anyone against Mamdani is Islamaphobic. People have given countless reasons for disliking him. You may choose to disagree with all of them, but this does not make at least some of them reasonable. It is irresponsible to say that everyone who disagrees with you is racist. But that is what people here are doing. Not cool.
Right, people have given such concrete reasons for not liking him. Like his looks and how he seems ‘like a phony’.
I have wasted hours of my time here writing about his limited experience, the fact that he is making suggestions he can't pay for, how rent freezes don't work, etc. But you obsessively latch on to the one idiot who posted something else and generalized (I keep using that word - I should start calling you the General) that every single person who opposes Mamdani only does so for silly reasons. Perhaps I will start to generalize and assume that all Mamdani supporters completely lack critical thinking skills, the ability to understand a budget, or the way to engage in a respectful, intelligent debate about the issues (and yes, I have made some childish insults so before you bring those up, I am not alone in doing so and by bringing them up again you will actually be further proving my point that you are engaging in whataboutisms). An intelligent, respectful debater is willing to admit the flaws in their own side in addition to arguing for it. I have repeatedly done so - I have acknowledged some of Mamdani's positives and admitted that there are plenty of people who are opposed to him for bad reasons. But not all of us. You refuse to engage accordingly.
