I think the key to success for a lot of the prep players including the one who played at three IAC schools is that they always played up in youth lacrosse. My DS is now in college but when he was in youth lacrosse he was on the same teams with these players. They always played up in age and that has helped make them the players that they are.
He played 2022 until he reclassed and then switched to DC Dogs. This is his 5th year of HS in IAC. JV at Landon in 2019.
And the kid, like everyone else, lost a year due to Covid. He transferred originally in order to reclass, then transferred again. Weird situation, but he's a great player and by all accounts a great kid. The bottom line is that all the premier schools look to add kids and we are talking about HIGH SCHOOL. If a kid wants a different situation for whatever reason, great - more power to him and his family. Instead of hating on SJC, appreciate Speaks and co. for good coaching and adding another blue blood to the DC lacrosse scene. Their model is different - more one sport lacrosse kids than other schools - which is totally fine if that's what those kids and those families want.
