I’m on day 5 of Covid, I’m fully vaxxed with 2 boosters (all Pfizer). I’m 44 and my only health issue is obesity. Day 1: a bit of coughing and sneezing Day 2: tested + on home test, began to get chills and aches Day 3: heavy congestion and sore throat Day 4: heavy congestion and sore throat Day 5: still congested with improving sore throat Have been taking Sudafed but hasn’t helped - finally took Mucinex and it helped immensely. Congestion has improved and my throat is no longer raw. I’m still very easily winded but no longer have fatigue, chills, or aches. Covid sucks and I can only imagine how much worse it would have been for me had I not been vaccinated/boosted.
I’m on day 6 and it’s still pretty bad. I don’t think being vaccinated made a difference.
Really? I felt like crap days 3 and 4, couldn’t sleep at night and none of my medications helped. I debated calling ambulance at one point because I was so miserable. A hot shower at 4am provided some relief. I’m pretty sure I’d be in the hospital in much worse condition had I not been vaxxed and boosted. I can understand how some people ended up on respirators; it feels awful to be unable to stop coughing or have trouble breathing. My heart breaks for all those who did go to hospital and died.
It’s impossible to say if the vaccine helped. You should have gone to the hospital. I debated it but I know our er will do nothing and tell mr to call the doctor in the morning. The same doctor whose staff tells you to go to the er for minor things as they cannot be bothered getting you an appointment or giving the message to the doctor. I am coughing nonstop and breathing issues. It’s part of Covid.
I’m no longer coughing nonstop or have any respiratory issues. Mucinex has helped me immensely. I feel like I’m recovering although I’m very easily winded still. Please do seek medical care - I hope you feel better and recuperate fully.
Thanks. Sadly with my insurance I cannot get a doctors apt for weeks and if don’t feel like going to the er which is my only option beyond paying out of pocket which I have done. Hopefully it will get better soon. I cannot take mucinex but my spouse and kids did and it helped some. I’m at least able to get out of bed for an hour or so but like you winded. The virtual doctors I’ve been paying out of pocket are not wanting to give more antibiotics or steroid as I’ve been on a few rounds this month from a cold and infection. Not a fun month. Hope you feel better soon.
Same to you. Really hope you feel better soon, I wish you had more access to care. Been sick since Tuesday (first day of symptoms at least) and while I’m beginning to feel a bit better I remain very congested and winded.
That’s good to hear. I’m slowly getting better too but this is really miserable. I don’t get how people don’t care if they get it.
