There will be three national Girls Academy showcases.
So at this “national event” all GAL clubs will come together 3 times a year and they will play each other? There is 44 clubs correct? ECNL has 94 clubs correct? How many National events dies ECNL have a year? Where is the funding for GAL coming from? How are they going to pull these events together? Lots of questions I have, not getting much from MU can anyone help?
GA currently sits at 45 with their largest conference yet to be announced. I guessing there will be 57 clubs. Every single club that plays in a league pays league fees. You have league fees, sponsorship, entry fees, etc... This is the same for every league in the country. The DA didn’t fail. US Soccer decided to pull out of youth sports.
Yet they blamed the coronavirus pandemic! "This was an incredibly difficult decision to make, but the extraordinary and unanticipated circumstances around the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in a financial situation that does not allow for the continuation of the Development Academy program into the future. We know that suddenly discontinuing a program that has been with U.S. Soccer for many years is shocking, but these unprecedented times required acting now." Definition of financial FAILURE.
