20:43, I'm with you, about wanting to shout from the rooftops. However, my DD got in and I made the mistake of skirting the issue with the parent of one of DD's close friends, whose sibling is in AAP and I'd thought for sure would be accepted. Parent asked me "So, did [DD] get in," and I answered yes. I had fully expected parent would then say his own DD had been accepted, but when that didn't happen, the conversation became awkward, at least for me. Going forward I'm going to steer clear of this topic with any parents of peers about this until we've gone to the AAP orientation and see who attends.
This happened to me a couple of times. Awkward! I did say that I was sorry that they didn't get good news, and did ask if they were going to appeal. I also put DC on notice NOT to discuss this with classmates. If someone asked, fine....but no bragging! I did not Face-brag this as well. My family knows because I told my mother MIL and they are shouting from the rooftops on my behalf. LOL.
