People are more willing to give if their kid directly benefits. People are also more willing to give if they believe that most people are also giving. It's a bit of game theory. Start suspecting free riders and then giving drops off. I think my ES is starting to hit that threshold. The number of parents that even paid to "join" the PTA this year dropped off dramatically.[/quote]
