You didn't have the dog there for an exam appt.  You had the dog there to get a routine shot.

It seems as though you mentioned these concerns (lethargy, severe constipation, possible injury) in the hopes of getting a complimentary exam included in the routine shot visit. The vet was likely pulled away from other patients to look at your dog on an emergency basis.  That means that other patients and their owners had to wait while your dog (the emergency) got examined first.

You are complaining that you owe $600 in emergency vet bills.  But you brought your dog in w/o an exam appt  and your dog was seen under emergency circumstances and you told the vet that you might have potentially injured your dog while removing poop.....
