I third this. If I went back full time he would have to shorten his day to do dropoff or pickup, use his vacation days to care for sick kids, and not have dinner until 8 after we both get home and deal with hungry, needy kids and homework and chores. We did it for years and it was exhausting and I really didn't make enough to make it worth it. When dad makes $250k and has to take the day off so mom can go to work and make $60k, he is not appreciative of a working wife.[/quote]

This mom makes 320k. My DH would be pissed if I decided to stay home and throw away this income. Over the long term having both parents work makes for a combined stronger income and better life.[/quote]

I don't make 320, but I do make over 200 and our lives are much better because of it. Our youngest child will be 15 this fall, and they are growing up nicely. So glad I didn't throw away my career to "keep house." I don't want to spend my days caretaking for other people.[/quote]
