Gilmore Girls gripe! I'm new to GG, having never watched it the first time around. So I'm now on season 2, and I love the show. I really do. However! Some things about it bug me so much. For instance, it annoys the hell out of me that it was always just a given Rory would go to Harvard. Hello?? There was never any nervousness or worry about getting in. And this is Harvard! Drives me crazy how unrealistic that is. Also, if Lorelai had to borrow money from her parents to send Rory to Chilton, how on earth does she propose to send her to the Ivy League??? So many inconsistencies. That said, I love Kirk and his constant appearances in every job around town. Too funny. I guess I do love this show. But I've found myself getting annoyed at some of the loose ends that are never cleared up.
Don't you remember being that age and just being so sure of yourself and your plans? It's not until you get closer to it that the nerves and insecurity kick in. And Rory is nervous that's why she freaked out about not having enough extra curricular activities.
Yes, of course. But the idea that she would get into not just Harvard, but also Yale and Princeton, just seems waaaay over the top. And what about Lane? There's been no focus on where she's going to college (other than her mother's Christian school picks - I love that Mrs. Kim). Clearly, Lane is just as smart as Rory - why didn't she apply to the Ivies too? I think Rory is just a beautiful girl, but her voice drives me bonkers. It's half whiny/half garbled. Enunciate!
