On the contrary, I have been reading your thread with interest as you can easily see by my responses. I find it quite fascinating how anyone would venture to put Donald Trump and anti-Semitism in the same sentence as you boldly did. Seeing how observant his daughter and son-in-law are to the Jewish faith, I doubt they would maintain much of a relationship with a father who had any leanings whatsoever towards anti-Semitism. Are we missing something here? No need to create drama where there is none.
If you have actually been reading, then I can't explain why you haven't seen me make this point multiple times. But, sorry to those who will have to read this again. There have been very public and very virulent anti-Semitic attacks against reporters and others who have been seen as opponents of Trump. For examples, see my original post in this thread. Donald Trump was asked about these attacks in an interview and dodged the question. He was asked again as a follow-up and again dodged it. Melania Trump was asked about anti-Semitic attacks against the author of an article about her. Melania replied that the author had brought the attacks on herself. So, here are two instances in which the Trumps not only didn't condemn anti-Semitic attacks, but in the case of Melania seems to have condoned them. I am not saying and have not said that either of the Trumps are anti-Semites themselves. To the contrary, in my original post I said the opposite. But, they don't seem to be particularly bothered by anti-Semitism and definitely are not discouraging it. Because Trump is strongly supported by white supremacists, has retweeted neo-Nazis, and has struggled with how to handled the support for him by David Duke, I think it is fair to say that Trump is cultivating -- or at least not discouraging -- an environment in which anti-Semitism is seen as somewhat acceptable. The fact that none of his supporters here (other than one who opposes all bad things) shows any discomfort about this is quite discouraging. I have to say that this has been somewhat eye-opening for me. I obviously am very in-tune with the anti-Islamic sentiment in our country. But, I thought anti-Semitism had really diminished. Now I see that many -- even many of those who post here -- don't really consider it a serious problem.
