There is something about the Catholic attitude that isn't inclusive or open and that's what I find off-putting. There is more "my way or the highway" than in other religions -- and I am just talking about my first-hand experience as a non-Catholic who married a Catholic. I didn't have this view until I went through the intrusive pre-Cana process, met with the priest, etc.
Wow. It's actually quite the opposite. Very much inclusive and about treating each other with kindness and having a sense of community. . .it's hard to put it into words, but this is from a non-catholic who attended a catholic school, and I was one of the only non Catholics there.
Lots of groups do that -- without the rigid rules, shaming LGbtq people and sexually abusing children and covering it up at the highest levels.
Youre joking right? Seriously, you high? Lots of religions have rules. Take, for example, orthodox judaism, islam, mormon, seventh-day adventist, jehovahs witnesses, hinduism. . . They all have rules. Countless others have rules. Secondly, molesters aren't exclusive to any race, ethnicity, or creed. They are your neighbors, uncles, teachers, "mentors," coaches, and unfortunately, have been religious leaders too. And not just catholic by any means. Do you watch or read the news???
