All the schools mentioned cost over $30k except NPS. I also don't think it's unfair to say Beauvoir is part of the big 3 when many Beauvoir kids go on to NCS/STA. I think all these schools are crazy expensive but hey, that's up to the individual family as to how they spend their money. As a Beauvoir parent (and back to the original topic), we have been very happy there. The parent community is welcoming and I've experienced none of the issues that are often brought up here. My DC is so thrilled with school and loves going to Beauvoir every day. The faculty is fantastic and everyone knows my child. The resources are many. We've been disappointed by the Spanish instruction. It's pretty lackluster and my child hasn't learned much. But the other subjects (particularly math, science, and reading) are very strong (in our experience) as are the arts. Bottom line, it's a really warm, special school with an engaged staff.
Agree with previous poster. It's a warm (dare I say loving) school. My very bright, sensitive DC has found thoughtful, caring emotional and social support, as well as just the right amount of academic challenge -- stimulating, but no rote drills, and no pressure. Learning is so much fun, the kids hardly realize that it's "school." Also, it's great when your child walks through the corridors and all of the teachers and administrators can greet them by name. Yes, there are a few obnoxious parents, but relatively few. In my child's class of 21, three of the moms are snobbish and not very pleasant. They are nouveau riche social climbers and clearly lack the class they aspire to -- in every sense of that word. Most Beauvoir parents are warm and inclusive and that is the dominant tone of the community.
