Especially on point given that Beauvoir is 20% more expensive than comparable elementary type privates!
So, which schools are 20% less but comparable? Sidwell is about the same, GDS slightly less, Maret less but not 20%.
You are comparing pk-12s. I'm talking more like St Patrick's, Sheridan. NPS. Elementary type schools where your tuition doesn't subsidize more expensive middle and upper school facilities. And compared to these K-8/6 schools, Beauvoir is A LOT more expensive.
Those schools are not on Beauvoir's level. Beauvoir would be an A school and those would be B level schools. The beauty is that Beauvoir's money doesn't subsidize high school activities. Every penny is invested in the early years and the professional development of teachers and staff. We never have to wonder if our money is being funneled to an athletic program. We are confident it's use is about our kids.
"A school" indeed. Anybody who needs to know anything about the culture of the school only has to look at PP.
I simply stated fact. It's not different than speaking of the Big 3. It's a fact that Beauvoir is the feeder into "1" of the Big 3. That alone makes it a different school then the other PreK-8 schools mentioned. There is a reason Beauvoir is usually the 1st choice and St Patrick's, NPS, etc. are the fall school for Kids wait listed at Beauvoir.
All the schools mentioned cost over $30k except NPS. I also don't think it's unfair to say Beauvoir is part of the big 3 when many Beauvoir kids go on to NCS/STA. I think all these schools are crazy expensive but hey, that's up to the individual family as to how they spend their money. As a Beauvoir parent (and back to the original topic), we have been very happy there. The parent community is welcoming and I've experienced none of the issues that are often brought up here. My DC is so thrilled with school and loves going to Beauvoir every day. The faculty is fantastic and everyone knows my child. The resources are many. We've been disappointed by the Spanish instruction. It's pretty lackluster and my child hasn't learned much. But the other subjects (particularly math, science, and reading) are very strong (in our experience) as are the arts. Bottom line, it's a really warm, special school with an engaged staff.
