Mary has no clue that Edith is Marigold's mother.  When Edith finally tells her, I think Mary will have a whole new impression of Edith - and lots more respect for her.

As for Anna, would a simple stitch really hold her cervix secure enough to bear the weight of a baby?  That description confused me.  If she's been miscarrying at such an early stage, how would she possibly be able to carry a baby to full-term?  Maybe the procedure + bedrest?  I was glad to see Mary helping Anna through this situation.
