I don't like Trump or his rhetoric. However, if nothing else, the yellow star of David on the clothing of Muslims, is somewhat ironic. Does anyone on this forum not believe that they got exactly what they wanted?
Obviously, the stars were specifically chosen to make a point. We have no idea of knowing what they wanted, but we do know that Trump rallies are filled with Islamophobes. Trump could easily issue an apology and clarify that he has no issues with law-abiding Muslims in the US. But, of course, that is not his style and the style of his supporters is to justify, rather than apologize for, Islamophobia.
I just don't understand how people can look at what's happened (and is happening) in Europe wrt Muslim immigration and want that for the US. I don't. If that's "Islamophobia" so be it.
Plain and simple bottom line.
Hundred percent.i believe in facts. I don't believe in embracing tons of people whose culture teaches them to hate women, gays, Christians, Jews.
First of all, we are talking about the two people who were at the Trump rally and how Trump and his supporters responded to him. You have no idea what their beliefs about women, gays, Christians, and Jews are. You are simply applying negative stereotypes to them, which is classic racism. I am not sure why you feel the need to defect this discussion to other topics. But, in response to your deflection, what you describe is a misrepresentation of the culture. There are Americans who hate women, gays, Jews, and Muslims. But, we don't assume that all Americans have such beliefs. You are allowing your opinions to be influenced by negative stereotypes that are spread and encouraged by hate-mongers.
