"The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." That, for you is leading Republican candidates spewing racist remarks? OK. Thank you. You've answered my question.
I don't know if it is "racist", but it is pretty ignorant to suggest that "Mexico" -- by which I assume he means the government -- is not only "sending" people to the USA, but specifically "sending that have lots of problems". He is clearly implying that the immigrants from Mexico are all or nearly all people with problems such as drugs, crime, and rape, which is factually inaccurate. Immigrants with those problems are very much in the minority and not representative of the larger group.
