They are calling for hiring a private armed security force to combat the wave of current armed crime. More red herrings.  A.) It's already been repeatedly shown that concealed carry and more armed citizens does not prevent, reduce or deter crime b.) "Gun free zones" is another red herring and NRA talking point as many mass shootings that happened (like the recent Oregon shooting) were NOT "gun free zones" and c.) there are also plenty of examples where "good guys with guns" were NOT able to prevent mass shootings and d.) the "criminals not caring about the legality of their guns" is compounded by the fact that there are so many venues by which criminals can so easily get guns given gun show loopholes, private sales without background checks, et cetera.  In fact a Department of Corrections study of inmates found that over 90% of armed criminals got their guns via those gaping loopholes.  Turns out "good guys with guns" have no problem selling criminals guns.  The data refutes the fictions.[/quote]
