Our neuropsych diagnosed DS with Aspergers (before the name changed to high functioning autism or ASD or whatever it is now) all the while telling us she was uncomfortable with the diagnosis but wanted him to be eligible for accommodation should we ever return to the public school system. She said he was definitely not neurotypical but didn't clearly and neatly fit any particular diagnostic category, so she went with the closest thing. [/quote]
