You mean to tell me that DCUM does not support Kanye's 2020 presidential run???
I mean, he is Shakespeare, Nike, Google, and Andy Warhol all in one convenient package. HOW SWAY?
Nothing he says makes any sense in any interview he does. I seriously believe there are a few screws loose there. Something is not right with that man. Not too bright.
If you listen to that interview and get past the posturing at the beginning and bluster in the middle, he makes a really good point. He is currently caught in a struggle between time and money and relevance. He wants to branch out and be an artist in fashion, like the big names in fashion are able. But they have huge bankrolls, and Kanye's only bankroll is the money he makes from his music. The more time he invests in fashion, the less time he has to make music, so the less money he has, and also (since he is known more for his music than his clothes) the less relevance he has with people. So by spending time on fashion, he risks losing everything because he isn't making music, making money, or making an impression on pop culture. I agree that some of what he says is pure self-aggrandizing puffery but beyond that there is usually something worthwhile.
I'm the PP who posted the interview and although I laugh it at (2 years later, if I'm confused by something, I still look at my DH and say "HOW SWAY?!?!"), I did understand what he was trying to say. I thought it was a bit ridiculous for a millionaire to claim he need a patron a la the Medici family, but whatever. It's kinda BS that he bitches about his fashion connects when the few items he released were just as ridic as all the other lines. Like $150 for a plain white t-shirt. But now, I don't know if he's nuts or completely trolling us. I rarely watch KUWTK, but I caught the ep in which he, Khloe, and Kim travel to Armenia to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. Kanye toured the Tumo school of design and was so different, so soft-spoken, so interested in the students. He was a COMPLETELY different person and it wasn't just for the cameras, clearly. I wish the clip was on YouTube but I can't find it. Don't know if he was on triple Xanax or if there's something about young creativity that humbles him.
Not pp, but my husband and I are always using the "You ain't got the answers SWAY" when we disagree lol.
