My friend was nearly destroyed when she found out that her husband, a police officer, was cheating on her once again. She would have full-on panic attacks at work. She divorced him. Cheating destroys the spouse. For those of you who are so casual about it, I seriously doubt that you have ever been cheated on.
I don't think anyone is casual about it. I have been cheated on. I don't think this data dump is right. Life and people are complex. It might be easier to 'forgive'--which can sometimes be a valid and good course of action, if it has not been made so public and your life/spouse's life and job destroyed. I don't think everyone is used or be used. People can truly love each other and make bad choices. They can live through alcoholism and health crises. Some cheating is a a pathology that needs treatment . Marriage is long--if you let it be. I'm sorry for your friend - I'm betting 100% everything in the marriage was not hunky dory but for the cheating. I am not blaming her--but I am saying sometimes we fall in love with people who aren't good for us and practically shout that message from the hill tops. divorce is probably the best option then.
