It is a comedy where the lead is supposed to be the awesome mom everyone can relate to, its backfired because nearly every complaint - even in the few good reviews is that Jill is unlikeable, both as a character and the actress that plays her. The writers want us to find the rich snooty moms crass and their actions funny. It was meant as a sendup of stuck-up UES moms. Its supposed to be how self absorbed clueless and inept the UES moms are. That is what her book was about too.
