Cars have to give you 3 feet when passing. Biking on sidewalk is allowed (except in Alexandria) outside of DC central business district, but not ideal. You have to yield to pedestrians if on sidewalk and by law have to give audible signal (bell required in DC and MD) before passing a pedestrian.[/quote]
