To clarify (again), the poster who wrote about experience at the playground is not OP! I'm not sure how anybody could think using curse words in front of young kids is appropriate, regardless of your race or economic status. And what ever the expression "suck dick" means, it is gross! If you live in the city, you are going to see things that can be scary for kids. Fights, drunks, armed roobery at Trolley Park in Columbia heights. Why is pointing this make me a racist?
Again, when asking directly what do higher class white folks do when facing this "issue", it draws so many racists conclusions. I don't think anyone is saying that language is okay, it's called sarcasm. Sometimes sarcasm is a good way to deal with things when you are responding to a person/people that are so inherently racists. Laugh to keep from crying. I've heard little white boys at turtle park yelling at their moms and dropping the b-bomb. I've also heard little black boys dropping s words as well. I tell my kid that is not acceptable behavior or language and it will never be allowed.
