I think that all kids who take these exams are a self selected group of high achieving kids - regardless of if they are already in HGC or not. The median for all kids who took the exam will be lower than the median of accepted kids. Every student also get their own score in the letter. The competition is so tough that even a difference of a couple of marks from the median can make a difference. I think every student who took the exam will end up doing well in whichever school they go to because they value education. [/quote]
