That's not their problem, that's your problem. You need to accept your MIL doesn't want the relationship you desire and you need to stop pushing it on your DH. If the current relationship bothers him, he should go to therapy to help him come to terms with it. If he was abused as you claim, he definitely should go because he's probably very conflicted (I speak from experience having been abused and having years of therapy). If you can't let it go, you should go to therapy to figure out why you can't.[/quote]
