In my younger partying days I had many issues trying to get a safe ride home from DC cabs to VA, now that there is Uber I will never cab again- if you think regulations for cabs keep you safe than you are extremely naive- I have never had someone be creepy or cross the line in an Uber car, I have never been refused a ride home, I have never been in a Uber car that hit another car and then was stranded till 5 am held hostage (not really, but they refused to let me get another ride home because they needed my fare now to repair their taxi after the accident they caused...)  Cab's aren't safe, or they aren't any safer than Uber- and in my experience Uber is more than willing to make it right if you have a bad experience, not true with cabs...[/quote]
