You have insurance that provides for monetary compensation for things you lose.

As anyone who has been robbed will tell you, the insurance money doesn't do anything for your peace of mind.

Yes. But I understand that I could lose peace of mind. I make decisions on where I live, how much crime is in the area, do I lock my door, do I have double deadbolt locks, do I leave the garage door opener in my car. I take as many precautions that I can. I also understand that I could have a gun in my house... but, there are trade offs, life is not perfect.

Also, I keep pictures on off site storage because a fire can take years of pictures. I have a few other documents that I secure outside of my house for the same reason.

The stuff that is no off site, I have decided are not that important. If you are going to take nude pictures, store them offline. Know your risks.

I am not saying it is okay to steal anything. I think the hackers should be convicted. But these kids these days.  :D  They need to understand their risks and not put themselves in risky situations.[/quote]
