It is just stating the fact that people choose to sin and are too proud to admit they need help.  This is the condemnation . " Light has come into the world but the people turn from the light preferring the dark ways of sinful life."  The narrow gate is a message to people on a personal level not as a group.  Jesus is telling YOU personally to follow him, try to do what he says and not to be swayed by popular opinion (the wide gate to destruction ).[/quote]
