My youngest is just 6 weeks old so has not had her shots yet. And after hearing the stories of measles exposure in Fairfax and Loudon, I am so worried. She wasn't in any of the places listed, of course, but I have 2 older children that go to school, play sports, go to birthday parties, etc. I think the non- vaxers should all have to go live on an island somewhere.
+1. I could have written this post. I even say the thing about the island all the time! It makes me sick that all these ignorant, selfish people are endangering our (and their own) children with their irresponsible, paranoid, anti-science b.s.
Your newborns are the ones who should be kept away from the general public. If you have any common sense and are concerned about illnesses, then you should be keeping your newborns home. This is a time-honored way of handling babies.
Well, in this case, newborns were exposed at the hospital in L&D. I don't think the parents are the ones without common sense.
Really? The child was dragged to a birth in a hospital as well as Home Depot and the grocery store? Weird.
You really are dense. Yes. L&D was exposed. The hospital has listed certain rooms. Peds was also exposed. As was apheresis, psychiatry and diagnostic radiation. CVS, too. I guess everyone should have just stayed home. Instead of some a$$hole parent getting a simple and cheap vaccine for his child.
Or instead of dragging a sick child all over creation. Why aren't sick children kept home these days? (And SERIOUSLY, they let a sick child in L&D, and you think that is fine? I don't.)
Omg. Let me speak slowly and clearly. The child went to the hospital to be treated. Since it is a communicable disease, people were exposed. I sincerely doubt the child was in L&D.
Ha ha! For all your faith in medical science, you don't have much faith in hospitals!! Are you saying everyone in the hospital was exposed or do you not know there are protocols in place to keep that from happening in a hospital? (And if you are aware there are protocols in place to keep diseases from spreading in a hospital, do you admit that L&D was just thrown in for drama, aka, the "you don't care about kittens and babies" side of your 'scientific argument'?)
