How old are the people who think Paige sounds classic? Because out of all the names, Paige sounds the most dated.
Exactly, the name is timeless and classic. Not everyone needs to name their kids Ava and Emma. I'm 28.
Dated is not the same as timeless and classic. I love the name Paige, but agree with others that it is not timeless/classic. It is a post-WWII name, and rose precipitously in the 80s and 90s. It's been in or near the top 100 since then, though I've definitely noticed an uptick in little Paiges recently. OP, if you are specifically looking for classic/timeless, Paige is not it. But not every name needs to be! Seems like a great fit with Lucy and I like the name a lot. If the timeless factor is important, Audrey is probably the only one that really fits that, in that it's been used steadily and consistently for many generations without big popularity peaks. Abby/Abigail leans that way just because of its Biblical origins, but it's definitely had a recent rapid rise. Sadie (which I also love) is definitely a "grandma name," given its peak in the late 19th century, dramatic drop in the mid-20th century, and sudden rise again in the last decade. My kids have grandpa names and I'm a big fan of those, but again--not timeless. They are among many under-fives with their names, and I'm hard-pressed to think of anyone I know in my generation or my parents' generation with their names. I'd still use them again, though. Go with what you love.
