Just sort of piggy-backing on this thread. I was a tampon user for 20 years, but after my first born, I couldn't keep them in - my body just sort of pushed them out. I only had a couple of periods before getting pregnant again, and now, post-partum, again they're really uncomfortable and it's like my body is trying to expel them. I'm wondering if this is a temporary condition, or if I'll be plagued with pads forever (not that I think they're so bad, but that would certainly hamper swimming and other activities). Any thoughts or experience with this? Am I a biological freak?
You probably have prolapse... I would see your OB.
Well you scared me. I looked it up and I don't have any of the following symptoms: Sensation of heaviness or pulling in your pelvis Tissue protruding from your vagina Urinary problems, such as urine leakage or urine retention Trouble having a bowel movement Low back pain Feeling as if you're sitting on a small ball or as if something is falling out of your vagina Sexual concerns, such as sensing looseness in the tone of your vaginal tissue Symptoms that are less bothersome in the morning and worsen as the day goes on So I guess it's really mild if so? I'll increase my kegels....
You can always buy a pessary!
What is a pessary? That's a first for me...
It's a little ring you slide into your vagina and it supports the uterus to an extent. They could be (can be?) purchased in all different sizes. They used to use these waaay back in the day, long before my day (or yours, I'm guessing), but someone gave one to my mother as a gag gift for her 40th birthday.
