Leggings aren't pants. My 12 yr old wears them with a long sweater or under a dress but not by themselves with a short top. That would be 1) not in style, b) ridiculous looking, and c) not acceptable in this house.
It depends upon what size your kid is. My tiny Asian 6yo can barely find any pants that don't fall off her. Jeggings and leggings are just about the only things that sty up on her, don't end up untucked two seconds after she puts them on, and she can get through the school day without looking like a holy mess when I finally pick her up b/c, finally, we have a pair of bottoms that STAY UP on her. And really, believe you me, it looks just about as far from sexual as it's possible to get. Who sexualizes a young child, who's rearing Carter's jeggings and a matching top?!!? For REAL, PEOPLE!!!!
