Amazon can be used to stream on an iPad via an app or on your tv.  To use it on your tv, you need to hook up your wifi modem to your tv so the intent streams through the tv and you need a converter box, for me we use the blue ray.  I actually set it up myself, it took about an hour for me to read directions then figure it out but so worth it.  I also watch netflix and YouTube this way on the tv.

If you need a new tv, you might want to consider a neighborhood listserv.  I live in NOVA, and tons of people belong to Oldtownmoms yahoo group, even those that don't live in Old Town.  People are always offloading, for free, tvs, furniture, kids items, clothing, etc.  You could also try your local free cycle.  I have given tons of stuff away on both.[/quote]
