I let my "colleagues" know that I thought what they were doing was discriminatory and possibly in violation of EEOC laws. I said I felt he was a well-qualified candidate and that he should be strongly considered. But it wasn't my decision, and after consulting with my attorney friends it became clear that proving an EEOC violation would be difficult even if I reported it. It was digusting. The writing was on the wall that I wasn't going to be staying, but they couldn't afford to flat-out fire me and they knew it. Honestly, that guy was better off - he would have encountered a workplace full of small-minded people and been miserable anyway.[/quote]
