Where is MCPS going to get these dedicated math teachers for will be teaching 1 class per school to a handful of kids?
Our school already has them.
They won't be teaching one class per school to a handful of kids. Schools have a variety of options if they have only a handful of kids in compacted--they can use one of the non-classroom based teachers (math content coach, staff development teacher) to pull that group of students. They can agree within their school cluster to "host" the compacted class at one of the schools first thing in the morning and then students can go on to their home schools after math. Students might be sent to the middle school to be taught first thing in the morning with kids from other schools, then sent back to their home schools. MCPS is hiring a handful of itinerant teachers to support these options.
