My daughter is in Einstein cluster (non hgc student) and we have not received any notificiation yet (as of Monday-- when I asked the principal, and she was not willing to divulge the information). Very few kids in our school were even tested, less than 15, so whatever the percentage is, it is of 3rd graders who were tested, not the entire 3rd grade population. Are there schools where the entire 3rd grade was tested?
Only some students were tested in our school too (also Einstein cluster, male principal who was able to divulge information). I can't imagine that only 13% is of the tested though. That seems way too low. Has anyone received a letter that there child will not be in the 4/5 math? At the HGC open house, the principal explained that kids not in compacted math would stay with the HGC teacher and kids in the compacted math would go with a dedicated math teacher. The class might also include students from the home school if they qualify. I got the sense that there would definitely be students in the HGC who would not be in accellerated math. Math is not part of the HGC curriculum.
