[/quote] I wouldn't be too worried about a school that is wealthy and almost entirely Asian and white having high participation rates in 6th grade Algebra. The kids will be well supported by their parents and many are probably taking outside enrichment. I'd be willing to bet that any 5th graders skipping up both have ludicrously high MAP scores and are taking outside enrichment. I'd be much more worried that the parents at less affluent schools don't understand the implications of jumping up in math. [/quote]
