My middle schooler went for the last time today. He has a camp scheduled next week. My 5th grader will go to the end because of field day and promotion activities. It will be fun. However, I just don’t understand having kids in school in the 3rd week of June. We are all mentally done with it and in need of a break.
What is your recommendation for the appropriate end? I guarantee whenever that is, the week before DCUM will be saying they are no longer sending their kids
Most private schools ended the first week of June. I can accept MCPS going through the 2nd week of June but I find it absurd that kids are going the 3rd week of June. As a parent, I am EXHAUSTED from all the tests and end of school activities that I need to keep track of. May is SO busy. Going to school for 3 weeks of June is too much. It’s hot and no one can focus anymore. I grew up in the Midwest and went to public school. We were always done the first week of June.
